Synopsis

Back in 2020, Madelina Collective reached out to 20 womxn all over the world to record their stories and experience on the ground. The responses were filled with serendipity and hope during a high point of uncertainty. Every womxn featured tells of their emotional status, background, life changing influences, advice, inspirations, as well as candid imagery describing what their life looks like in the middle of 2020. “20 WOMXN IN 2020” is a book that will serve as a record of the turmoil and isolation coupled with balance and introspection that not only affected their lives, but lives of many in 2020. Every womxn in this book has a profit share. In exchange for their stories and vulnerability, we hope you support them with your purchase and share their words in your community. The term “womxn” is inclusive of trans womxn, womxn of colour, and is a step to reclaim the word “woMAN” for us to own and redefine. Strong, independent, diverse: ”womxn” is inclusive. Womxn is empowering. We respectfully acknowledge that not all womxn have periods, and not all people with periods identify as womxn.

Organisations “20 WOMXN IN 2020” Supports

On behalf of the womxn featured, each book sold will have a % of the profits donated to the following organisations:

The Gentle Barn

At The Gentle Barn we stand up for the innocent, and we help animals and children alike remember that they matter. We open people’s hearts to the connections with nature. We open people’s minds to what is happening around us. And we inspire people to be an integral part of the solution. Through the stories and interactions with our animals, we can raise future generations to have reverence for all life, protect our planet, live good healthy, happy lives, and we will all be closer to having peace on earth!

Give a Beat

Give a Beat’s mission is to reduce the harmful effects of incarceration through music production, DJing, and other education programs that transform individuals and inspire communities to take action.
